"Ivanovo - European Youth Capital 2014" project is devoted to reconsideration of the role of the young in the city, region, and country. This project is developed for people to accept global, national and local challenges.

The modern youth reveals the tomorrow's Europe image, young persons create the future of their country and change cities they live in. Participating in "European Youth Capital 2014" contest allows to stimulate the developing and realization of the overall Ivanovo region youth potential for the benefit of both Russian and European countries. The status of the European Youth Capital will give a new positive impetus for the development of not only Ivanovo, but it will obviously enhance the progress of other Russian cities which will regard Ivanovo as a so called «role model».

Application campaign of "Ivanovo EYC 2014" is being carried out under the motto "RU 4 U" (Russia for You). It meets the priorities of the Council of Europe in the sphere of youth policy up to 2020, proclaimed in Kiev declaration of 2008.

What is significant, before this time, the cities chosen as European Youth Capitals, are the cities of the member states of the European Union. Awarding the status of the Youth Capital of Europe for Russian city means a lot. This fact will allow to expand the sphere of influence of the European Youth Forum, to attract more attention to the activities of the Forum and to involve a huge audience such as the Youth of the Russian Federation into carrying out our youth initiatives. Moreover, "RU 4 U" is a multimillion voice of the European youth which can be heard speaking Russian at the wide stretches of the European Council. "RU 4 U" will have a positive impact on the Russian youth, will increase its weight in the society both in the country and abroad.
